About
Just like the Big Sky Rod Box (BSRB), we were born and bred in the heart of Big Sky Country. Southwest Montana offers endless beauty and outdoor opportunities including some of the best blue ribbon trout waters in the world. As avid fly fishermen, we spend countless days on the water every year, and breaking down our valuable rods every day, or multiple times in the same day, wastes valuable time on the water. So we developed the ultimate solution.
Combined, my business partners and I have over 40 years of experience in various engineering and manufacturing companies. Mostly high tech stuff, but we are now using our wealth of experience and connections, and applying those to a product we are truly passionate about. The box pictured on the grey Chevy in slideshow was the original prototype that was designed and built in 2005. To this day that is the box I use and demo to clients, because it still looks and functions like new. Having proved the durability and functionality of the design, we decided to turn it into a business. So far so good, and we love it! With all that said, the majority of my fly rods were hand built by me, and I would not trust any other fly rod carrier out there to transport those safely.
